Our micro-nurseries

THE EDUCATIONAL PROJECT

The mission of the Montessori School in Marseille is to guide each child in their personal development at intellectual, physical and spiritual levels, on the path to their own potential.

In our establishments, we wish to cultivate empathy and respect, autonomy and living together, independence and belonging, freedom and self-discipline.

Children evolve in stimulating and attractive environments thanks to the richness of the material presented and a mixed social context. Our atmospheres are above all adapted to each of the development plans established by Maria Montessori (0-6 years old). Our living spaces meet the complementary needs of the individuality of all children and the group they constitute.

The prepared adults who are our educators recognize the authenticity of the child. They nurture respect for the inner natural order of each interacting and understanding of the global organic order of the universe.

Through the education of parents and our educational teams, we are working to develop a school and family culture that preserves and protects a healthy and happy childhood.

Our goal is to serve children with a wide variety of characters and a wide variety of learning styles and rhythms.

It is in this perspective that we seek to avoid "pathologization", the labeling of so-called normal behaviors and the stigmatization of learning differences.

Our societal goal is to unite with the mission of the International Montessori Association which works for world PEACE through education and the development of human potential.

Our goals

- Respect the needs of each child in their sleep, their diet, their motor development...

- Promote the child's feeling of security and self-confidence.

- Gently introduce people to the community and access socialization.

- Individually support each person's acquisition of skills and development towards autonomy.

MOREOVER:

Care (meals, changing, etc.) will be individualized as much as possible and given without haste.

We encourage verbal exchanges whatever the age of the child. We talk to him to warn him of what will happen or explain to him what we are doing. This verbal sharing allows the child to anticipate events and be able to react.

The essential tool is observation. The observation of the children by the educators and the observation of the educators by the child.

Free play and independent activities are encouraged. The child is even invited to do nothing if he wishes.

Functioning

Our micro-crèches are made up of two different "units" defined by Maria Montessori herself to accommodate 10 children each day in total:

- A Nido, for children from 10 weeks until they can walk confidently (around 15-18 months).

- A children's community for children from walking to 3 years old.

Children are welcomed from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., regularly (5 days per week) or occasionally (1, 2, 3 or 4 days per week). Where possible, some children may be accommodated for half-days.
